appreciate their beauty and their unique
distinction. We recognize the value of fine
rugs and are familiar with the styles and
craftsmanship particular to each production
region and period . As such, we take
tremendous caution in caring and cleaning
for your fine rugs only in a controlled
environment . We have a comprehensive
process to ensure that your rugs will last
for generations to come. We begin with an
inspection where we look for fading,
discoloration, stains, wear, pre-existing
damage, color instability and odors. We
determine to what extent each rug can be
cleaned and the appropriate gentle cleaning
procedure to be used.
Next we remove particulate matter lying deep
within the rug are removed using compressed
air and specially designed tools. Foot
traffic and dry soil can act like sandpaper
on the fiber, and this step is often
referred to as "air-washing" or "dusting"
of the rug. We do not vacuum, nor beat the
rug since this can damage the rug further
and isn't nearly as effective. Next we treat
any spotting using the most advanced
techniques. We then dissolve and extract the
dirt to restore a natural texture to the
rug. To maintain the value of your fine rug,
we recommend you call us for cleaning every
1 to 3 years.
